Kick-Off to Kinder: School Expo

Kick-Off to Kinder: School Expo is a parent and caregiver–focused informational event designed to support families with rising kindergarteners as they prepare for the transition into elementary school. As a recreation center dedicated to promoting the healthy development of children birth through age five, Fit For Fun is an ideal setting for providing families with early learning and school-readiness resources.

This expo will bring representatives and/or current parents from various public, charter, and private schools together in one location so families can learn about kindergarten registration, enrollment procedures, school options, and key deadlines. The event will be structured as an open-house style expo with tables for each participating school, allowing caregivers to visit at their own pace and ask questions. While light play materials will be available, the focus of this event is on equipping adults with the information they need to confidently prepare their child for kindergarten.

A separate, celebratory child-focused “Kick-Off to KG Celebration” event will be held in late summer, making this expo the first step in supporting families through this milestone.
