Hey, Wilmington moms! Are you looking to connect with other moms, share experiences, and create lasting friendships? You’re in the right place! Wilmington is home to a variety of mom groups and meetups that cater to different interests and schedules. Whether you’re a new mom, a working mom, or a stay-at-home mom, there’s a group for you. Here’s a roundup of some of the best mom groups and meetups in our community.

Moms of 0 – 18 year olds
MomCo is an international non-profit organization that encourages and equips moms of young children to realize their potential as mothers, women and leaders, in relationship with Jesus and in partnership with the local church.

MomCo “Mom Community”— then, simply known as MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)—was founded in 1973 when seven women in Colorado invited moms to meet regularly to grow together as women, parents, and leaders, with the ultimate goal of reaching women with the hope of Jesus.

4th Trimester Mission is a local non-profit organization caring for moms in early postpartum. They arrange home visits, providing material resources, and creating a community that empowers women in one of the most vulnerable times of their lives.
For expecting moms through 6 months postpartum, check out monthly meetups in Leland, Wilmington, and Hampstead, NC.

FIT4MOM is the nation’s leading prenatal and postnatal fitness program, providing fitness classes and a network of moms to support every stage of motherhood. From pregnancy, through postpartum and beyond, their fitness and wellness programs help make moms strong in body, mind, and spirit. FIT4MOM Wilmington offers group exercise classes for women at any age and stage of motherhood.
They also organize plenty of community events for moms, so check out their upcoming events on the “Our Village Events” tab on their website.

Breastfeeding Support
For breastfeeding moms looking for support and information, La Leche League of Wilmington is a great resource. They offer regular meetings and one-on-one support to help you navigate your breastfeeding journey.

Breastfeeding Support Group
Mother-to-mother breastfeeding support and education with a Certified Lactation Consultant. Mothers and babies, and mothers-to-be are welcome! They meet 1st Sunday of each month & every Monday from 11:00 AM – 12:15 PM at Betty H. Cameron’s Women’s & Children’s Hospital – 3rd floor. Check their Facebook link below for a virtual link or call 910.667.3933 for more details.

Mothers of Little Ones Ministry (M.O.L.O) strives to provide community and support during this special season. Too often, moms feel isolated during the early years of their child’s life; they provide opportunities for moms to meet other women in a similar stage, as well as help them grow in their wisdom and personal relationship with Christ.

They have a morning group that meets twice a month and childcare and breakfast is provided. There is also an evening MOLO group but no childcare is provided. All details at the link below.

‘Saturdays are for the Girls’ – a judgment-free women’s fitness community where empowerment and positivity reign supreme! The best part it’s a FREE workout. All you have to do is sign up. Join them every Saturday for stress-free workouts tailored to all fitness levels. Their group is a safe space to listen to your body, nurture your well-being, and uplift one another. They believe in lifting each other up, not tearing each other down. Come as you are, leave feeling stronger and more inspired. Let’s rise together. Locations vary in Wilmington: North Chase Park, Olsen Park, ogden park, WB park and more to come. Follow their Facebook page for updates, sign-ups, and community support!

The group was founded by Brooke Acas in 2018. Although our group originated out of Wrightsville Beach, they also hang out and surf at the nearby beaches.

They are a local moms surf group ran by women, for women and their mission is to get moms back in the ocean, and to encourage and support their love for surfing through all stages of motherhood.

Moms Night Out

Every month we host a WilmingtonMom Moms Night Out event at various locations around the Wilmington area. We love to spotlight local businesses and create fun atmospheres where you can bring your mom friends or come solo and make new friends! Join us at the next event, which can be found on the page Hosted Events.

Play Dates

We also occasionally host Play Dates where you and your kids can meetup at the beach, splash pad or local park to mix and mingle. Stay tuned to the Hosted Events page for any upcoming events.

Circle of Parents provides a friendly, supportive environment for caregivers and their children. Meetings begin with dinner, and then children ages 0-5 play in the Resource Room at Smart Start while older children play and participate in our Children’s Circle activities. The parent group meetings foster an open exchange of ideas, support, information and resources. Meetings are led by a peer volunteer and facilitated by a trained parent educator. The group is open enrollment, so families are welcome to drop in and to attend as many meetings as they would like throughout the school year.

Families do not need to register ahead of time, although if parents have questions about the program or how their child’s needs may be accommodated, they are encouraged to reach out before their first meeting.
