As Easter approaches, Wilmington, North Carolina, is gearing up for a variety of festive egg hunts and family-friendly activities. Don’t forget your basket! Here are some of the top events to look forward to:

Surf City Easter Egg Hunt
- Date & Time: Saturday, April 19, 2025 |9AM
- Location: Surf City Community Center, 201 Community Center Drive
- Price: FREE for kids 12 years old and younger
- Details: Hosted by the town of Surf City an egg hunt will begin at 9:30 AM for ages 4 and under and then 9:45 AM for ages 5 – 6 and 10:00 AM for 7 – 12.
Easter Jamboree at Carolina Beach
- Date & Time: Friday, April 11, 2025 |6 PM – 8 PM
- Location: Mike Chappell Park, 501 Dow Rd., Carolina Beach
- Price: FREE for kids 12 years old and younger
- Details: Hosted by the town of Carolina Beach including hot dogs, balloon artists, characters, DJ, Photo Booth, and bounce houses. The egg hunt will begin at 6:15 PM.
Eggspedition in Leland
- Date & Time: Saturday, April 12, 2025 | 10 AM – 1 PM
- Location: Northwest District Park, 1937 Andrew Jackson HWY, Leland
- Price: FREE
- Details: Hosted by Town of Leland, enjoy a visit from the Easter Bunny, egg hunt, community booths, giveaways and prizes!
5th Annual Easter Egg Scramble in Belleville
- Date & Time: Saturday, April 12, 2025 | 9 AM
- Location: Belville Riverwalk Park
- Price: FREE
- Details: Grab your basket and join us for an egg-citing morning and egg hunt at the Belville Riverwalk Park! The Easter Bunny is bringing over 5,000 eggs and we need your help gathering them.
– Please, bring your own basket to collect eggs.
– Take a photo with Mr. Easter Bunny, Peter Cottontail before or after the event.
– Enjoy music, face painting and eats provided by Happy Face Funnel Cakes & Big Ralph Street Eats. - Egg hunt areas are divided up by ages below. Children will be directed to their hunt area on the day of the event. All age groups start at the same time.
- The egg-traordinary egg hunt starts at 930AM. Please, arrive early to join your age group prior to the scramble – late arrivals will not be able to participate.
- Age 0-4
- Age 5-7
- Age 8-12
Wrightsville Beach Easter Egg Hunt
- Date & Time: Saturday, April 12, 2025, 9:30 AM
- Location: Wrightsville Beach Park
- Details: Grab your egg basket and camera and join us to welcome the Easter Bunny to Wrightsville Beach Park and to hunt for Easter eggs! The egg hunt will be divided into multiple age groups, with special prizes for those who find the Golden Eggs! Mr. & Mrs. E. Bunny will be available for pictures with your camera after the eggs have been collected. A loud whistle will indicate the start of each age group’s egg hunt at the times listed below. Please don’t “jump the whistle”. With over 7,000 eggs, there are plenty for everyone.
- 3 & under age group at 9:30 am
- 4 – 6 age group at 9:35 am
- 7 – 10 age group at 9:40 am
- The staggered times allow parents with children in different age groups to enjoy the hunt with all of their children.
- Please help us recycle the eggs. Egg recycling bins will be on site.
Spring Egg-Venture at Halyburton
- Date & Time: Thursday, April 17, 2025 |9 AM – 12:00 PM
- Location: Halyburton Park, 4099 S. 17th St., Wilmington, NC
- Price: $5/ Child (Ages 2 – 9 years old)
- Details: Hosted by the City of Wilmington, this annual event (paused since 2019) a popular egg hunt and a few new surprises. Each age group has different times to hunt.
Eggstravaganza with the YMCA in the Swimming Pool
- Date & Time: Friday, April 25, 2025 |6:00 – 8:00 PM
- Location: NIR Family YMCA, 2710 Market St. Wilmington, NC
- Price: $5/ Members or $10 for non/members
- Details: Hosted by the YMCA of SENC, enjoy an egg hunt in the family pool, games, crafts and more!
