Downtown Wilmington – November 29, 2024 | 5:30-7:00 PM
Join the family friendly fun during Downtown Wilmington’s Christmas Tree Lighting. The Holiday joy begins with entertainment at 5:30 p.m. followed by the festive countdown usually commencing at 6:25 p.m. to the actual tree lighting, and then everyone is treated to a special visit from Santa. Get into the spirit and stroll among the shops and restaurants to kick off the holiday season coastal-style.

Kick off the Christmas season with the Town of Wrightsville Beach Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. Hear the sweet sounds of the Performance Club’s Elf Patrol as they set the stage for the Lighting of the Town’s Christmas Tree welcoming the Jolly Old Elf himself. Enjoy the Christmas music, holiday lights and decorations, a cup of hot chocolate and cookies, and a visit with Santa.

Carolina Beach – November 29, 2024 | 7:00 PM
The Lighting of the tree and light displays at the lake officially begins the month long Island of Lights Festival in Carolina & Kure Beaches. An official light up ceremony is being planned for this year. The tree and the displays will be lit the day after Thanksgiving. Santa will be there to hear your Christmas wishes. Free to the public. It starts at 7:00 p.m. Please feel free to take a walk around the lake and enjoy the many light displays sponsored by the Island of Lights Committee.

Join us in downtown Burgaw for the 16th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting on November 30! Festivities begin at 5:00 pm. The tree will be lit at 6:00 pm. Food vendors will be on site. An outdoor Christmas movie (The Grinch) will be shown on Courthouse Square following the event at 7:00 pm

Join us at Riverfront Park (10 Cowan St) on Thursday, December 5, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm for a magical evening! Witness the lighting of the Christmas tree and the arrival of Santa himself! Enjoy a special performance by the Roland-Grise Middle School KNIGHT Singers, followed by a heartwarming reading of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. Afterward, visit with Santa and indulge in light refreshments. Don’t miss this festive celebration—perfect for the whole family!

The Annual tree lighting & holiday market will be held on December 6. The Christmas By The Sea Parade is held on December 7 – RAIN OR SHINE and runs right through the heart of Town along East Oak Island Drive.

Leland – December 7, 2024 | 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Join the Town of Leland for the annual lighting of the Leland Tree. Mayor Brenda Bozeman will welcome guests to the Town Hall Plaza at 6 p.m., followed by Santa flipping the switch to light the tree and illuminate Town Hall.
- Santa will be greeting visitors between 6:15 – 8 p.m. on the Town Hall Plaza. Bring your wish list and a camera to capture the moment!
- Write a letter to Santa at one of our Letter Writing Stations and drop it in Santa’s Mailbox before you leave!
- Starting at 6 p.m., Dixieland Kettle Corn food truck will be serving treats across Old Fayetteville Road at Leland Brewing Company.
Town Hall Drive will be closed to vehicle traffic between Village Road and Old Fayetteville Road. Free off-site parking will be available:
- Port City Community Church (187 Old Fayetteville Rd.) with a free shuttle to and from the event beginning at 5:30 p.m.
- First Baptist Church of Leland (517 Village Rd. NE) with no shuttle service
This event is pet-, alcohol-, and tobacco-free.
